Discrimination in the Education Environment
When a child has been treated unfairly in public schools and the unfair treatment is due to the student's race, gender, disability, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
Personal Injury in the Education Environment
When a child is injured in the public school setting and the injury is the direct result of the actions or inactions of school staff and personnel. This may include the actions of other students if the school and its staff were aware of the student's propensity toward violence, harassment, etc.
Civil Rights Violations in the Education Environment
When a child's right to freedom of speech, expression, religion, privacy or right to be free from improper searches, seizures or referrals to law enforcement have been violated.
Juvenile Court Matters Related to a Child's Education
When a child has been improperly charged with a crime if the behavior for the crime is related to the child's disability or is the result of racial injustice or if the child did not commit the actions for which the public school referred the child.
